Count Down

In less than 2 weeks I will be in Spain! All the plane tickets are purchased, passport is here, dollars have been exchanged for euros  (which look like Monopoly money compared to our boring green money), and everything except the electricity adapter is ready to go. It is a strange feeling knowing that it is so close when it has been so far away for so long.
On Monday I got the best news ever!! The family I will be staying with sent me an email and Barbara Jean and myself get to live together! This may seem like something silly or insignificant, but it ensures that we won't be alone and together we make the best team. The family is very kind and we are really excited that we get to live with them.
In looking at our flight itineraries, I realized just how messed up we are going to be. I begin flying on June 22 but that is just to Texas so it shouldn't be too bad. The next morning we leave Texas at 8 am and don't land in Barcelona until 8:20 pm on June 24. So while it would seem we will be flying/ in airports for over 36 hours, with the time changes all over its only 29 hours. My nights and days are going to be confused for a while. It will be 4 days of traveling for me from the time I leave Utah until I get to Logrono, 5 airplanes and 1 train and roughly 8000 miles. That's a bit daunting to think about, but I have a great travel buddy and we will make it the best trip it could possibly be :)
Training for the half marathon has been rough to say the least. I love to run and I love going to the gym, but my body seems to disagree. I bought a pair of Vibram shoes, which are amazing! With them, however, has come some serious adjusting in the way I run. In the last few weeks I have spent almost every afternoon and night icing my feet, heels, and calves. But I refuse to give up! I AM running that race in August. Now to just make sure I keep training while in Spain....
